The Royal Anchor has been a family-owned and operated resort since its inception in 1968. Founded by Real Bureau, the hotel aimed to become the go-to resort in Old Orchard Beach, and with the help of his family, Real achieved that goal. Mark Bureau, Real’s son, and his wife Claire took over the resort 20 years ago, and they continued Real’s legacy of providing genuine family hospitality.
Steve & Michelle Cowan purchased Royal Anchor Beach Resort Bureau Family in 2023, with a vision to create a memorable and comfortable stay for our guests. Steve’s passion for hospitality began working in various hotels and resorts in New Hampshire and Maine. He went on to manage renowned hotels and resorts across the country, before returning to the New England Coast.
Our rates are based on double occupancy, and additional guests are charged $15 per person, with all rooms comfortably accommodating up to five people.
